Strengthening Moldovan civil society organizations in HIV/AIDS prevention and care for women and juvenile prisoners

The overall objective of the action is to contribute to decrease in the spread of HIV/AIDS in Moldova, to realization of the rights and poverty reduction of people living with HIV/AIDS.

The objectives are:

  1. to strengthen the capacity and join efforts of Moldovan CSOs and public authorities to fight against HIV/AIDS and provide qualitative services to people living with HIV/AIDS and other vulnerable population;
  2. to provide assistance to women and juveniles prisoners and ex-prisoners in their social and job-reintegration;
  3. to ensure contact between imprisoned women and juveniles and their relatives;
  4. to raise public awareness about HIV/AIDS, its prevention and treatment.

The action addresses the problem of HIV/AIDS in Moldova with an emphasis on women and juvenile prisoners and ex-prisoners, development and poverty reduction. It consists of 2 main clusters: first, it provides assistance to HIV/AIDS prisoners, ex-prisoners and their families; second, it raises awareness, strengthens capacities and builds partnerships of non-state actors and authorities.
